My Top 10 Travel Bucket List for 2015

International Balloon Festival

The following are the top 10 places and events I wish to go to for this year. If you happen to live near or in any of the destinations mentioned, please feel free to comment and we could meet up.

1. London Eye at Night

London Eye at NightI had never given it a thought to go on the London Eye but my friend, Pearly, managed to enthused me with her compellingly convincing story. This was after I came back from Paris and told her I fell in love with Eiffel Tower at night. (Image by liushuquan)

2. The Last Supper Painting, Milan

Leonardo_da_Vinci_(1452-1519)_-_The_Last_Supper_(1495-1498)Inspired by Mona Lisas Smile painting during my recent visit to the Louvre Museum, I remembered my old-time wish to see The Last Supper. It disappointed me to find out that it wasnt in the Louvre but in Milan. So there, I have just got another reason to visit this Italian destination. (image from wikipedia)

3. Keukenhoff Flower Parade and Tulip Festival, Holland

tulips-181918_640-compressed High in my Travel Bucket List since time immemorial, Keukenhoff Garden has remained elusive to me. I came so close to visiting it in 2012 but planning didnt bode well and I ended up going to Infiorata di Noto instead.
Well, I dont have regrets going there. Sicily holds a special place in my heart and like I always say, its my second home.

4. Paris in Spring

Paris in SpringI know I had just been there but that was sort of a spur in a moment trip. We didnt pay too much for the flight and the hotel was free courtesy of Frankies earned mileage and points from his trips to China. As if not wanting to part with us, a typically cold English weather followed us to Paris. Since we only spent 24 hours in the capital, we didnt get to do and see everything there is to do and see. Hence, Im going back in Spring.

5. Bird Watching, Norfolk

Simmond's_Scrape,_Cley_Marshes_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1062772Winter time is the best time to go bird watching in Norfolk because it is when birds migrate here from colder climates. I have already seen some on the way to my sunset-chasing photography trip to Hunstaton. What I saw made me want to see even more. If you want to join me in this trip, please contact me or comment below. (Image by Simmond)

checked6. Seal Sanctuary in Horsey, Norfolk

Seals at Horsey (Graham Horn) / CC BY-SA 2.0 I hope I wont be too late to do this. December to January is the weaning period for the grey seals in Norfolk. Thanks to my friends Regina and Fernando for telling me about this place. It was in my travel bucket list but I was going to do it in the summer. I had never thought I lived in a safari-kind of world here in Norfolk. Too many animal sanctuaries of all sorts. Creative Commons Licence [Some Rights Reserved]   © Copyright Graham Horn and

7. Norfolk Lavender Field, Heacham

Norfolk Lavender FieldsWhen I went to see it last year, I didnt get to see the Lavender Field and it was rather early. The kind man at the Norfolk Lavender nursery told me they would be ready in two weeks. However, when I called again two later for direction, the lady on the phone told me that they dont have it anymore and it wasnt possible to see the field. Not too helpful, I should say.

Luckily, Paul, knows where the field is as he used to walk around the area. So comes July, Im going back to the Lavender Fields.

8. Salzburg Festival, Austria

salzburg-83804_640-compressedThose who have known me for the last decade, at least, can very well guess what inspired me to visit Salzburg. Well, I think anyone can who has watched The Sound of Music. There, I have just spilled the beans! But even if we get the film out of the picture, Salzburg is still worth visiting. It has retained its charm and beauty all these years. The hills are still alive with the sound of music.
I am looking for travel buddy for this trip. If you are headed that way anytime this year, please contact me. (Image by PublicDomainPictures, Pixabay)

9. Picking Dates, Kuwait or Dubai

Picking dates - travel bucket listNow why would picking dates or picking a date, perhaps?be in my Top Ten Travel Bucket List? Why not? You can have any reason for travelling and picking dates is not an unlikely option.
Well, I love dates. In fact, I am crazy for dates! I specially love the yellow ones before they start to desiccate and turn sickeningly sweet. Here in the UK, I only get them between September and October. If I could visit a place that grows dates and also see some sights then it would be a big bonus. Anyone I know living in Kuwait or Dubai, please? Im looking for accommodation. (Hint. Hint) (Image by lumir, Pixabay)

10. International Balloon Festival, Bristol

ballon-106920_640-compressedI heard about this event from Twitter and it pleased me that there is one in the UK. I should have known about it earlier but never mind, I still have a chance this year. (Image by lalabell68, pixabay)

So theres my Travel Bucket List for 2015. I have made them achievable as much as possible. I have my ultimate Travel Bucket List that I wish to achieve in the future. For now, I am listing only ten.

About the author: Jem loves to try new thingsas long as they dont involve risks. As a little girl, she used to daydream travelling around the world, but taking in consideration that because of poverty, it was just a pure fantasy. She was aware of the fact that it was an ambitious dream. Nevertheless, she contented herself reading books about places and learning about geography. Well, look whos globe-trotting now!
