The Bird of Paradise is tropical plant that usually adorn front or back yard gardens in South-east Asia, and probably in Africa where I have never been. Others resemble a star figure but this particular specie is my personal favorite. Although having said that, I must disclaim that I am keen on keeping it as a plant. Why? Because the tree will look untidy as there will be several shoots coming out from the root and together they will form a cluster. With leaves resembling a banana, a cluster of this plant to me looks hideous. The flower will make up for it, to be sure, but I prefer them to grow in the wild.
Why this Bird of Paradise become my Travel Photo of the Week? Because I had to travel all the way to Cornwall to find this flower. This photo was taken at Eden Project in the Rainforest Dome.
